WET FLIES

Wet flies fall into a catagory of flies that mostly represent real insects, but are not really nymphs - a stage somewhere between nymph and emerging to a winged form. Most are fished like nymphs.

This fly is the classic Spanish Wet Fly.

The wet fly is the classic spanish tie, whose essence is described in the manuscript of Astorga dating back to the year 1624. Tying this fly, the Cock de Leon Feathers is essential.

Probably it is still, even today in Spain, the type of artificial fly most often used in the fly fishing, especially in buldo fishing technique.

The simplicity and originality of its tie has been admired around the world.

Aphids Wet Fly

Aphids are small insects (not more than a few millimeters in length), of assorted colors. The body is ovoid. They may be, within the same species, apterous (wingless) or winged. Aphids have developed in evolution a symbiotic relationship with ants, which not only tolerate them on plants, but defend them from their specialized predators, such as ladybirds, in exchange for their secretion, which they feed on. Also bees can collect that secretion and add it to the composition of honey.

This group of flies are exact reproductions of the Spanish classic flies in very small sizes. They are flies that are used primarily during the summer.
